Being a mother is the most rewarding journey but it is also hard. We are constantly busy from meal prep, laundry, nourishing our babies, cuddling, homework, daycare, after school activities, diaper changes the list goes on…mothers know there are days when getting dressed becomes completely mundane.
As a working mother who also balances work with 2 little ones, I have become obsessed with finding outfits that make me feel on trend but compliment my motherhood journey. Recently, I had the opportunity to work with a brand called Oak & Fort for their Mother’s Day campaign. On the day of the photoshoot I was told I was making history as this was their very first Mother’s Day campaign, I felt honoured.
For the first time in a long time I was excited to wear each and every outfit that was prepared for the photoshoot. I think as mothers we can all agree that with motherhood also comes insecurities, not every style or trend was designed with motherhood in mind especially in the early stages.
After my photoshoot with Oak & Fort I knew I had to share my experience with all of you.
Each outfit was something a mother could wear. I felt stylish, comfortable, and confident. Oak & Fort offers everything from sophisticated looks, casual, gorgeous feminine dresses while maintaining what the brand is known for minimal & clean styles. After this collaboration, I reached out to them because I felt so inspired to share their line with my muses.
In between cleaning up sticky messes, playing at the park, and all the diaper changes, I know it’s hard to be a stylist for your own wardrobe. But, Mother Muse was a platform I created to celebrate mothers and to make sure that we do not abandon our moments of “me” time even the small moments like picking a nice outfit to wear.
