Naetal was born out of necessity during Vivian’s first pregnancy when she suffered from a severe itchy pregnancy rash. Having her baby in mind, she wanted to use natural and safe products to help relieve her irritated skin but there were not many options on the market. That was when Vivian set forth to create something clean and effective, and discovered the power of colloidal oatmeal and calendula.

Why the name Naetal?
When I first created this product I had a totally different name in mind. I wanted it to somehow involve my motherhood journey, my two boys, and encapsulate the significance of this life process which begins with dreaming of your unborn child. When my kids were born, the word “neonatal” was commonly used in our home when referring to specialist appointments, emails, and follow-up calls. I’ve been climatized to this just being a part of our regular vocabulary but one night my sister asked me what “neonatal” means, and I thought a little harder to dissect it:
Neonate – a newborn
Natal – relating to or accompanying birth
Something clicked. I knew this product wasn’t just for a certain time period, I knew it wasn’t just for newborns. The entire phase of life: motherhood, pregnancy, prior and beyond…this was the essence of what I wanted to capture; and thus Naetal Skincare was born.
