In the heart of Canada’s Capital lives a unique coffee shop for parents/caretakers alike to sip their coffee while their children play. Yes, play.

Located in one of Ottawa’s most trendy and thriving areas named Westboro Village lives Wild Child Coffee Project.

Born only a few months back, Wild Child is already succeeding in their mission: to provide a safe space for children to play while their parents enjoy their delicious, warm or cold drinks along with locally baked treats.

While speaking with the Founder and Owner, Paige Watts, we discovered that she knew she wanted to provide a safe space for parents to enjoy their early days with their children.

“My journey through motherhood has been so diverse,” she explains. “I can only hope that I can be relatable. I’ve been the young, single mom. I’ve been the homeless mom. I’ve been the postpartum mom. I’ve been the happy mom. So what drove me to open this space is that no matter where you are in parenthood, you have a spot to sit with us no matter which journey or path you’re on.”

Known for historical sites and creative businesses, Ottawa Ontario has yet to see such an incredibly progressive coffee shop like this one.

Wild Child Coffee is an inviting environment. With a play space located at the back of the shop, your children will undoubtedly gravitate towards the polka-dotted walls and play structures.

With an ECE staff member on board, the parent and/or guardian can rest assured that their children are playing safe while they enjoy their hot (yes, hot) cup of Joe on the bar stools underneath the large, open windows.

Their menu is already growing. With the options of allergen-free goods, grilled cheese and sliced fruit, this is just the beginning of Wild Child’s snack selection. It’s also refreshing to see such an array of drink options. From a soy-latte to iced lemonade, Wild Child is here to impress.
