Three years ago I became a mom, which has been the most magical, challenging, emotional, exhausting, and joyous experience of my whole life. But juggling work life (Mother Muse and being a photographer) and mom life has been a demanding job in itself, and certain activities that I would spend a ridiculous amount of time on pre-baby—doing my hair, makeup and changing my outfit 10 times before I left the house are not possible anymore.
Especially now with two children.
We moms run on short time, getting dressed for any occasion—be it for work or a weekend coffee date (do those exist?)—needs to take zero effort and time yet still make a stylish impact. Moreover, you no longer become too precious with your clothes. This means more affordable options become a lot more attractive. However, we also want to stray away from fast fashion and shop ethical which is hard to find at an attractive price point.
Introducing two brands I found on Instagram that I completely fell hard for: Billie The Label and Lett. Not only are they stylish and cool, but they meet the criteria of being ethically made in LA and retail at a great price point.
Not to mention Justine Liu the founder of Billie The Label and Lett was inspired to create both brands in her new role as a mom. She wanted something that was a balance between loungewear and appropriate-for-public wear with a collection that never sacrifices comfort or style. Effortless yet elevated staples for the modern woman.
Sounds perfect for motherhood right?
