“Affordability is the tipping point. It promotes access, which in turn creates demand and conversion to organic cotton. It creates a symbiosis in which everyone wins: the farmer, the consumer and the earth.”–Sachin Chauhan, Co-Founder
There’s no better time of year to update your bedding than in the fall, it’s the season to snuggle up during the colder months. But realistically, when was the last time you updated your sheets, comforter, duvet—or all three?
Fortunately, the market for quality bedding sets might be broader than ever, like our favourite SOL Organics. What separates SOL Organics from your bedding competitors is affordability and most importantly sustainability and ethical working standards.
One factory had everything they were looking for: a transparent supply chain from farm to factory to fabric, using only non-GMO, certified raw 100% organic cotton, manufactured in a FLO-certified factory.
In 2010 SOL Organics founders Vishal Naithani and Sachin Chauhan set out on a mission to bring ethical integrity to a marketplace saturated with inequality, abuse and dirty cotton.
The two friends decided that in order to fullfil their dream of creating textiles with integrity, they would need three simple ingredients: Organic cotton, equality for all employees, and people who really know about cotton.
“I can’t help but think about the people making those products. Who are they? What are their working conditions? Are children involved? How can I be sure? How can my customers be sure?” –Vishal Naithani, Co-Founder
That means their factory partners make a living wage, and do not employ children for labor. SOL Organics is working with proven partners in India that invest in the health and well-being of women and children, and we’re committed to eradicating child labor.
SOL means they only use the finest 100% organic long-staple cotton, grown from non-GMO cottonseeds. That means us (their customers) enjoy the highest level of comfort without comprising commitment to better farming practices that reduce our carbon footprint, conserve and protect drinking water and keep us all safe from harmful chemicals.
SOL Organics is a company I support.
Switching up your duvet cover or adding a new throw blanket is a cost-effective way to freshen up your bedroom without full revamping. When my SOL Organics bedding and towels arrived (YES! they make bath, baby and more products) I was determined to refresh my bedroom space. I’m not going to lie with two children even changing your bedding is a challenge but well worth it.
It’s crazy what a simple change like new bedding can do for a woman! I slept like a Queen.
