Exclusive interview with Mother Muse
Alexis Kaiser
What is the full name and ages of your children?
Billie Stone Kaiser, 11 months old, she’s currently our only mini, and we love her so.
Could you describe yourself in one sentence?
I’m a very simple minded woman, who’s creative, longs for the comfort and peace Mother Nature gives, and a woman who loves being a mother, stubborn in my ways, but equally kind.
What was your life like before motherhood?
Simple. Too think I thought it was so complex.
What do you do for a living?
I work online as a creative and share things I love – my home, and my family. I love the network it’s created. It’s so amazing connecting with so many like minded individuals!
What has been the biggest learning curve as a mother?
Being selfless. That’s been the biggest curve for me. For 24 years of my life it was all about me. Me, me, me. Then all of the sudden this tiny precious miracle shows up and totally rocks my world. In the most humbling, magical
way possible. She’s forever changed my world for the better. I’ll always be indebted to her because of that.
Describe the word woman in your own words:
Ooh, how lucky we are to be called women. What a great responsibility it is to do us justice with a few words. To me, the word woman stands for beauty, grace, empowerment, strength, progressiveness, gentleness and truly miraculous beings.
How did motherhood impact your career?
Motherhood has impacted my career in my eyes for the better. I was worried that I had made so many connections with non-mothers. But it turns out so many are mothers. It’s so great to share tips, tricks, and get feedback on all things Motherhood. Motherhood, at times can feel so lonely, but I’m so lucky to have such a positive, amazing support system.
Did you experience postpartum depression?
I didn’t, I attribute that to the encapsulation of my placenta. Postpartum depression runs in my family so I was worried I’d get it. I know not everyone is into placenta encapsulation, but I truly felt the happy hormones flooding through my body with each and every capsule.
Who are your three favorite Instagram muses to follow?
Ooh, that’s so hard because there are so many, but I really love following Bohannah, Sarah Shabacon, and I love following Jes.
You feel most beautiful when?
I can 100% say I feel the most beautiful when I’m pregnant. There is no better feeling than housing a tiny human. I can feel my entire energy shift
for the better. Nothing compares to it.
When you get a quiet moment, what do you like to do the most?
I like to meditate, write, sing songs in my head. I really like to cook. Sometimes I just like to sit outside with the sun on my face.
Who is your Mother Muse?
My mother muse would have to be my own mother. Although she drove me absolutely nuts growing up, I’ve come to know and appreciate
her strength, wisdom and selflessness. She’s bold, but caring. Funny, but kind. Always unapologetically honest, and raised 3 great kids. To raise a wholesome, good human, is a great accomplishment.
Can you give a quote about Mother Muse coffee books?
To me, the Mother Muse coffee book is more than just a magazine, it’s a movement. A positive, uplifting movement. Showcasing and telling the world about the beautiful sacredness of motherhood, in all its shapes, colors and styles.
