Brand Muse: SKÅGFÄ

Brand Muse SKÅGFÄ

My name is Cristina Falcon and I’m the mind behind SKÅGFÄ.
I’m originally from Madrid, Spain but I currently live in Vancouver, Canada.

I have been working in the movie industry as a character animator for over 12 years and thanks to that, I was very fortunate to be able to live in different countries to be inspired and absorb bits from all the different cultures.

Back in 2013 when I was living in Wellington, New Zealand and thanks to my Swedish husband Magnus I bought my first sewing machine. I went to a few sewing classes, after that a new door of creativity was opened and I couldn’t close it. I started to sew my own clothes, then nine months later, I designed and sewed my own wedding dress. I loved it!

During the winter of 2015, I was pregnant with our baby girl. I was looking around for various baby items, and got really inspired to start designing some of my own.

I started doodling, to come up with different designs and color palettes.
By the end of 2016, SKÅGFÄ saw the light with our first collection: The Original SKÅGFÄ Burp Cloth.

What is SKÅGFÄ

Here at SKÅGFÄ, we love design, functionality quality and color.

It’s important to us to use high quality cotton fabrics.

SKÅGFÄ baby items manages to be both stylish and highly practical. For example, our Bib Aprons, they are well designed and will grow with your little one from 6 months up to 2.5+ years (depending on the size of the baby/toddler).

We love the design process. All the way from the initial artwork, choosing the right fabric to the colours, types of stitches and cuts that we want.

Once that is done, we make the pattern and create the first sample, if this is successful, then it becomes part of the collection.

We have just started, but we are looking forward to creating more great collections every year!
